Tabernash, CO

Airbnb Details

We absolutely loved the Airbnb we stayed in for this trip. Located between Tabernash and Granby, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the best of both areas! The space sleeps 6, has an amazing deck with views of the mountains, a hottub, fire place and a great living space for gathering.

Things to Do

Shopping

We had a great time checking out the Vintage/Second Hand stores in Fraser, Tabernash and Granby. It only takes maybe 30 mins to get to and from all 3 towns and each of the ‘downtowns’ has something to offer. Our favorite in Granby was the Bowerbird’s Den, which had a mixture of new and old, including some really neat things from local artists. We bought some funky coasters but they have everything from vintage cameras to furniture!

Eats

Tabernash Tavern may be the only restaurant in town, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. The burger came highly recommended and it did not disappoint! It was big enough for 2 to share and the BBQ seasoned fries were crispy and super tasty. We’ll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items next time we’re in town!

Hiking

We ventured towards Granby hike to Strawberry Lake. We saw a few families and other folks on the trail but overall it wasn’t too crowded. Easy parking near the trailhead and the hike itself is about 4.5 miles roundtrip. There were some snowy areas (we went in late May!) and TONS of fallen trees. Over the course of the trail, you have to cross a deep creek 4-5 times, which was mildly challenging. It is classified as an intermediate hike, which I feel is fair. The alpine lake view at the end was well worth the effort! Definitely would hike again if in the area.
