Unique Tours in Denver & Boulder

Denver Graffiti Tour

We had a blast on this walking tour through RiNo checking out all of the awesome street art in the area.  Our guide, James, was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood and all of the artists as well as meanings behind some of the iconic pieces in the art district of Denver.  The tour lasted about 2 hours, and spanned several blocks, ending at the Denver Central Market, where participants could grab food or drinks afterwards.   We thought this was a super unique way to explore the city, walking through alleyways and near some of the places we’ve frequented in the area (if you haven’t already, check out Our Mutual Friend Brewing).  Although we’d been in the area several times before, it definitely made us appreciate the art and character of the neighborhood.  We think this tour is a fun activity for locals or out-of-towners. See some of the murals below, but keep in mind, they change frequently so you’re sure to see some new masterpieces on each tour! Check out their schedule and book your tour here.

ScooTours

The ScooTour began at the Downtown Convention Center where the guide, David, showed us how to ride and safely operate the scooters before embarking on the tour.  First, we went through downtown, passing by many notable landmarks including Denver Art Museum, Cheesman Park, Molly Brown House Museum, and more.  David was very knowledgeable about Denver, giving us factoids about the areas we passed through and stopped at throughout the city.  The tour is unique each time, as the guide changes the order of the tour and doesn’t always include the same stops.  He also can customize the tour, depending on the participant’s interests (i.e., street art, architecture, parks, etc.).  The tour costs $85, but you can also rent a scooter for the day if you prefer to wing it. We loved riding around town on these adorable scooters, and their slogan is “cuter on a scooter”… we’d have to agree with that. Check out their site and book a tour here.

Pedego Best of Boulder Tour

This bike shop is located in central Downtown Boulder, right next to the Biergarten on 13th.  They have motorized bikes of different sizes and teach you how to operate them prior to heading out.  These bikes were amazing!! They make riding uphill a total breeze, and you can gain some serious speed cruising through the neighborhoods.

We went on the Best of Boulder tour, which highlighted the neighborhoods near the mountains, Chataqua, NCAR, and Boulder Creek Path.  Our guide gave us tid-bits of information throughout the tour, about the history of Boulder and it’s landmarks.  Each tour is a little different depending on who is guiding, they switch up the order of stops and answer questions as you go.  They also try to keep tours on the smaller side, about 5 people, which we felt was the perfect size to keep together. We loved that this tour showed us a new side of Boulder, we would recommend it to locals and visitors! Check out their site and book a tour here.

These tours were all SO much fun, we’re on the hunt for more. Let us know your experiences on these tours, or if you’ve checked out another in the area in the comments below!
